Hot, dry spring! The Vine is growing fast ahead of a couple of weeks compared to 'classic' years, it is too early to make predictions, but the 2011 year may be an early year.
During that time our 2009 Wines are adorned beautiful medals.
• Gold Medal in the competition for Féminalise Pouilly-Fuissé 'Métertière, 2009.
• Gold Medal in the competition of Vignerons Indépendants de France (Independent Winegrowers of France) for the Mâcon-Vergisson 'La Roche' 2009.
• Gold Medal in the competition of Vignerons Indépendants de France (Independent Winegrowers of France) for the Pouilly-Fuisse 'En Buland', 2009.
• Silver Medal in the competition of Vignerons Indépendants de France (Independent Winegrowers of France) for the Mâcon-Bussières 2009.
While our wines are slowly starting their malolactic fermentation phase, our two beautiful Solutré and Vergisson Rock cliffs find themselves under the snow. How not to be contemplating front of this view ?
Today the September 23rd, 2010 it's D-day. During a week our harvesters' team is going to collect the fruit of a year of labour. After a slw maturation, we will pick a small quantity of grapes this year. A light sorting will be necessary to keep only the best. Then as every year Thierry Drouin goes himself take care of the wine making. His point of view is rather optimistic for this harvest, by keeping naturally big reserves.
The 2009's are finally bottled, and at the expected level. A very expressive vintage which will know how to seduce the largest number.
The harvest for the vintage 2009 is finished on September 20th with a sunshine.
The quality of 2009 is exceptionnal.
Actually, the wine is making the fermentation.
We have 94 oak barrels of 212 liters for the different cuvées of Pouilly-Fuissé, Mâcon Vergisson and Mâcon rouge Les Bruyères ; and 24 barrels of 500 liters for the Mâcon Bussières.
